Ambassador Ideas: Greener Schools 🌿

One of last month's Ambassador questions was:

"What's something at your school or in your community you'd love to change?"

Lots of Ambassadors shared ideas, and a theme quickly emerged: creating more opportunities to connect with nature at school...

Ava from West London Free School shared:

"I want there to be a garden section of my school. It would be a nice, peaceful place to just sit down and relax at lunch and break time."

Francesca from Graveney School agreed:

"I would really like to spend more time outside in lessons and learn about the natural world around us."

Our ideas show how outdoor spaces can be more than just somewhere to pass through. They can be places to learn, relax, explore, and connect with nature during the school day.

And some Ambassadors are already turning ideas into action.

At Bishopshalt School, Kari and a group of friends have started creating a school garden:

"Working with a few others, we have begun to create a Bishopshalt school garden. We have planted trees, dug up flowerbeds and sown seeds. As part of this project, we have also been doing litter picking around the school field."

It's a great reminder that change doesn't always start with a huge project. Sometimes it starts with a conversation, an idea, or a small group of people deciding to do something together.

🌿 This Month's Ambassador Question

If you could create the perfect outdoor space for people our age, what would it include?

Would it have somewhere to relax with friends? A wildlife area? Space to grow food? Outdoor classrooms? Sports equipment? A fire pit? A treehouse? Something we've never even thought of? Share your ideas and let other Ambassadors know what your dream outdoor space would look like.
