Becoming a
Partner School

The Bertha Earth Ambassadors Programme is a fully-funded, one-year programme for young people in Year 7.

Our curriculum supports young people to meaningfully connect with themselves, each other and the environment.

Throughout the year, the young people develop their storytelling skills, learn tools to manage their wellbeing, and begin designing and reflecting on their own environmental action and journey. We do this through a series of in-school workshops, nature connections days, and a rural five-day retreat at a working farm run by Jamie’s Farm or Farms for City Children.

Our school partners

We currently work with over 500 young people across 18 schools in London.

The 2026 school year entry is now closed, but in we will be opening up more places in 2027 for state-funded schools in London and the South West. You can get in touch below to open up a discussion about joining our programme in the future.

Whilst this initial offer is a one-year programme, we are committed to working closely with our partner schools over a number of years to implement whole-school environmental change.

If your school would like to join our next intake, commencing with a Training Retreat in July 2027 and running through the 2027–2028 academic year, you can register your interest at any time before the closing date in March 2027.

Who is it for?

This programme is for a group of thirty Year 7 pupils in each school, taking part in a year-long journey of hands-on learning and meaningful connection with nature.

The video below offers a glimpse into one part of that journey, the off-site Nature Connect Day, a highlight within a wider programme designed to help young people build a lasting relationship with the natural world.

We are looking for young people who care about our planet, are curious about the role they can play in making a difference, and are willing to commit the time and effort needed to take part fully. No financial contribution is expected or required to participate in the programme.
